Yes! Our team, speakers, and our community have worked together to create a virtual conference that’s as close to our live events as possible. This means that you won’t be sitting back and listening to a lecturer drone on while you watch Netflix in the background. You’ll be engaged in discussions and hands-on exercises to launch your practice and your career out of the COVID crisis. This conference is interactive and workshop-based. You will walk away from this conference with tools, techniques, and action items to move forward, not a set of proceedings that sit on a shelf.
No. At least, we try really hard to make sure they don’t. Yes, there is a ton of socializing and meeting people and talking about your practice, goals, challenges, etc. However, half of the team that works to plan Uncharted conferences is introverted and we are very aware that some people will need downtime to recharge batteries. These conferences are exhausting (think: best-vacation-ever exhausting), but you will have a lot of control over how you spend your time.
Yes and No. Registration works in stages. First, current members will have the chance to register for the Virtual Conference. Then, members will have the chance to nominate new people to become members and register for the conference. After that, registration for membership and conference attendance will be promoted to the public.
That’s a big question. Definitely review our conference web pages to get all the insight, but briefly… Uncharted is all about taking the perfect number of the brightest, most enthusiastic veterinary business/communication/marketing geeks in the world and putting them all together, a fanatical focus on getting them to know each other, a 15:1 attendee to instructor ratio, and educational topics that are more advanced than traditional vet conferences. We then pump in enthusiasm, energy, and a contagious attitude that anything is possible. You don’t want to miss anything from the networking to the closing remarks! Seriously, every conference people cry when it’s time to go home.
Our full schedule will be published soon!
Attendees will be provided with detailed information regarding the content of workshops and lecture/discussions prior to the conference to assist in selecting sessions. You can see all speaker summaries here.
Also, speakers will introduce their workshops and talk about what to expect on the opening night of the conference so you can make more informed choices.
Sign up for the Uncharted newsletter. Public registration open dates will be emailed out every year. That will also be the first place we announce when registration is live. Keep an eye on your email and be ready!
Yes! This isn’t just a conference, this is a community with continued support after the conference. Your options are: (1) Come to the conference and be in the community for 1 year for $999 or you can (2) come to the online conference and be in the community for 6 weeks for $399.
A Facebook Workplace account is required if you want to take full advantage of the online community. You can, however, attend the live events, take courses in the online school without it. If you want to view Uncharted events through live-streaming you will need an account. Uncharted conferences are designed to stand alone and be incredible experiences. Participation in the online community is therefore optional (but highly recommended).
A UVC Community Membership will expire after 365 days from the day of purchase and will automatically renew next year. If you choose not to automatically renew, you will be removed from the online school and Facebook Workplace at the end of the 365 days. After purchasing your membership, you’re able to purchase our 2020 conferences. If you opt to do a 6-week trial membership. Your Membership will expire after 6 weeks, but we think you’ll want to stick around!
This virtual conference is approved for attendees to earn up to 9 hours of Live RACE CE as well as 8 hours of CVPM CE.
RACE CE is valuable and generally approved for traditional means of education (lectures, webinars, workshops, etc). Most of our members don’t need more RACE CE than we provide and getting more doesn’t seem to be a priority for them. We have chosen to focus on addressing the problems our members are facing and providing year-round support to them using whatever tools make the most sense (online coaching sessions, Facebook discussions, articles, meetups at other conferences, etc). Many of these approaches simply don’t allow RACE CE certification. Again, RACE CE is great and important, and we make sure to provide it, but ultimately we value the educational experience over counting CE credits.
