ONGOING COMMUNITY EVENTS
Ongoing Community Events
Our ongoing community events are virtual Zoom meetings that offer something for everyone. They range from 1-2 hours long and are all FREE with your UVC membership. The dates and times of these events do vary but are posted in the UVC online community group. These events are a great way to make new connections that will last a lifetime. They offer a unique way to develop your leadership skills in a more personal and relaxed environment. Join in from the comfort of your home, your car, the breakroom, or even outside in the yard. Photobombs of pets and kids are encouraged!
Anyone who has been to many conferences knows that the impactful conversations don’t happen on stage. They happen in the hallway. It’s here that you get to ask a speaker or fellow attendee the follow-up question you’re dying to know about: “How exactly did you do it?”, “What do you wish you had known before you started?”, or “How do you get the team on board with this?” It’s questions like this that make knowledge actionable and get real results. That’s why every month we offer a virtual event to recreate this exact experience!
Your employee handbook is the bedrock of staff management. Of course you know this, but… It’s just so hard to create a handbook that is customized entirely to your practice or to keep your current handbook up to date. The solution to this quandary is to meet up with Uncharted on a regular, ongoing basis to work on the parts of your handbook that need love. Drop in, hear what others are doing and what has worked for them, pick up some great tools and resources, finish a section of your handbook, and mark it off your to-do list!
After working with hundreds of practice owners, multi-site managers, medical directors, multi-site medical directors, associate veterinarians and team leads on year-long professional development programs, we learned some things. One of those things is that accountability and ongoing training and support are essential to pushing practices and teams forward. That’s why we launched our Development Path Program. This program provides a regular meeting schedule where Uncharted members can work with colleagues and our instructors on the most pressing challenges they are facing.
Development Path training topics include Trust & Relationship Building, Time Management, Coaching & Feedback, Change Management, Priority Setting, Delegation & Training, Process Analysis, Employee Performance Evaluation, Meeting Facilitation, Developing Associate Veterinarians and many more!
Coffee Chat/ Happy Hour:
Quarterly hour-long Zoom gatherings are open to everyone in the community. Coffee Chats take place in the morning, whereas Happy Hours are scheduled in the evenings. These are laid-back meetings with topics ranging anywhere from team culture and workflow to time-saving tech gadgets. It’s a great place to meet other members and forge long-lasting friendships. Grab a hot coffee or tea, a glass of wine, or a cold beer, chill out with some amazing people, and get inspired!
For the bookworms in the community, we get together to discuss the current business/leadership book of the quarter. This is a great opportunity to connect with other passionate readers and gain insightful discoveries from other’s viewpoints. You will be encouraged to think outside the box and improve your critical thinking skills. Become more confident in your professional and personal growth with some amazing conversations. Not only will you expand your book collection, but you will find many other resources and suggestions offered in the Book Club Group in our community.
Practice Owner Round Tables:
A private monthly discussion group where practice owners can discuss all things related to ownership and beyond. This is a breath-easy time to bond with other practice owners who have experienced similar problems or are feeling the overwhelming pressures of running a business, supporting a team, taking care of patients, and more.
