“The Elephant in The Room” is about kindness and courage, especially when it comes to self-empathy. Their co-existence is often overlooked. However, through help from the others, I’ve come to the realization that kindness and courage can not only co-exist, but they are also the foundations of each other.
I was very touched and inspired by the other mic droppers at Uncharted Conferences sharing their authentic and vulnerable stories, so I wanted to do the same for people. To share my stories with sincerity and honesty.
A more “practical” reason was to “experiment.” A podcast I was listening to mentioned that an “energetically efficient” way for an introvert to get the most out of a conference is to have others come to her. Instead of actively approaching new people and trying to make connections, the fastest way to make others come to me was to give a talk in public.
