Description
Employee onboarding is one of the hottest topics in the broader HR community, and for good reason. Hiring new people is costly and time-consuming. There’s nothing more satisfying to a practice manager than filling that open spot and creating a brand spanking new employee file. There’s nothing more frustrating than having to do it all over again, just weeks or months later. Onboarding can help turn a new hire into an engaged, long-term employee who’s invested in your practice's success as well as their own success within the team. Bad onboarding can cost time, money and resources that your practice cannot afford to lose.
Join Stephanie Goss, a veteran veterinary practice manager and current Director of Community Development for Uncharted Veterinary conference for a 3-part class on how to set up a successful onboarding program within your hospital.
We will cover onboarding in three parts:
MODULE 1: May 19 The Paperwork: 8-10 PM ET | 5-7 PM PT. Part one will be the paperwork side. We will cover the basics of HR from a legal and practical perspective and help you create a new hire process that will make sure all your bases are covered when it comes to the paperwork (even if you go digital)!
MODULE 2: May 23 Office Hours: 4-5 PM ET | 1-2 PM PT
MODULE 3: May 26 The People: 8-10 PM ET | 5-7 PM PT. Part two will cover the human side – how we can best integrate new hires into our practice cultures and our teams so that they are set up for success in the long run. We will look at how to provide on-the-job training that actually teaches the skills needed to do their jobs as well as how to make it fun when adding someone new into the mix. In the middle, we will hold an open office hours session, where you can bring your questions and challenges to discuss with the group!
