We are so happy to be bringing the Uncharted Veterinary Staff Drama Conference to a new town! We hope that Kansas City is ready for the Anchor Gang’s arrival. Ready or not, we want to make sure that you have a safe and easy trip into our new port. Below is some information for you to use to make sure that your journey to Staff Drama is as smooth as possible.
Booking Your Room
No matter your method of transportation it is important that you make sure you have a place to stay. You will be staying at the Hilton President hotel in the heart of the downtown Kansas City Power & Light District which is just a block away from the Kansas City Convention Center where Fetch is being held. Your room will need to be booked by July 1st to guarantee your space. You cannot book by calling the hotel directly. To book your room you can either call 1-800-334-6147 or click here to book online.
Visually, the Hilton President looks a lot like Greenville’s Westin Poinsett so if you’ve been to an Uncharted Conference before you should already feel a little at-home. Check-in to the hotel begins at 3:00 p.m. and check-out it at noon. The hotel offers a lot of great amenities including complimentary basic Wi-Fi in the rooms, access to the fitness center and secured baggage storage on your check-out day. One really nice perk of staying at the Hilton President is that you receive a ten percent (10%) discount on all food and beverage outlets in the hotel which include a Starbucks!! Flying into Kansas City
The Kansas City International Airport is about 20 miles or an approximately 25-minute drive from the hotel. It is always fun to look around for other Anchor Gang members in the airport. A key indicator would be an Uncharted or anchor apparel. Often times attendees find each other on the trip in before the conference has even started. Since there is no complimentary shuttle from the airport it may help cut costs by sharing a ride with another attendee you ran into at the airport.
Transportation to Hotel
Since there is no complimentary shuttle you will have to use a paid method of transportation to get to the hotel. There is a super shuttle that you can reserve a spot on by calling 1-816-243-5000. The typical minimum charge for this service is about $17.00. You could also use a taxi service or another service like Uber or Lyft. If you are renting a car click here for turn-by-turn directions to the hotel. Once at the hotel garage parking is $24 and valet parking is $26 both with available in and out services.
Forget Something at Home?
Maybe you forgot something at home, or maybe you just wanted to leave a little extra room in your suitcase to bring home more Uncharted merchandise. Whatever the case may be there is no need to worry. The Hilton President can provide many of the toiletry items you have forgotten. If there is something they cannot help you replace there is a lot of shopping in the area. The local market, Consentinos (10 E 13TH St.), is only a block and a half away from the hotel and has a pharmacy.
Once you have arrived at the hotel be sure to settle in and come down to the lobby for some networking. Staff drama attendees should be filtering in and that is when the hugs and the fun begin!
